A nature lover and experienced tour guide, Liza is the founder of Travel Learners — a registered company in both the US and South Africa. Enjoying a base in both South Africa and the United States, Liza is also the owner of Avant Gardening and Landscaping. As a registered Landscape Architect in the US, her special areas of interest include botany, geology and agriculture. Liza is passionate about working with children through natural playground design and youth food gardens. She is also the founder of KidlinksWorld Inc., a non-profit organization based in the US that works with disadvantaged children within the US and South Africa.
A mother of two young children, Brigitte is an expert at planning family travel and adventures, and brings local knowledge of South Africa’s top destinations and hidden gems. While Brigitte has solid travel experience as a market manager for one of the world’s leading travel companies, her true travel passion lies in promoting South Africa and giving her clients exceptional service with a personal touch.
Now the co-owner of Travel Learners, Brigitte has twelve years of business development, marketing and communications experience, in both the UK and South Africa.
John Lightfoot is an accountant and business professional whose focus in recent years has been in the field of corporate distress and turnarounds. John’s areas of interest are geography, politics and history, particularly in relation to South Africa. John has a wide knowledge of South African history with a special interest in colonialism and apartheid and their impact on the South Africa of today. John is also passionate about astronomy and South African birds. He is also an executive director of the Gumboots Foundation, a charity which focuses on child welfare projects in Alexandra Township situated on the periphery of Johannesburg.
